The safest and most reliable way to deliver your jewelry or gemstones is in person. If you are drop-shipping a diamond or gemstone directly from a dealer, please include your customer number with the shipment. Please avoid shipping items during our scheduled vacations, holidays, or other announced closures. We are not responsible for unsuccessful delivery attempts made while our office is closed. Any loss, damage, return shipping charges, or other costs resulting from an unsuccessful delivery remain the sender’s responsibility. To help ensure the safe arrival of your valuables, please follow these packing instructions:

  1. Wrap each item in a soft protective material such as polyester fiberfill, cotton, soft fabric, cotton balls, or tissue paper.
  2. Place the wrapped item in a small zip-lock plastic bag and seal it securely.
  3. Put the sealed bag inside a small coin envelope. Write your name, telephone number, email address, return shipping address, and customer number (if known) on the envelope.
  4. Place the coin envelope inside a padded bubble mailer and seal it.
  5. Secure the bubble mailer inside a small shipping box. Use tape if necessary to prevent movement during transit.
  6. Seal the box thoroughly, including all seams and edges.
  7. Place the sealed inner box inside a larger shipping box.
  8. Fill all empty space with packing material such as foam peanuts, crumpled paper, shredded paper, or other cushioning material.
  9. Close the outer box and gently shake it. If you hear or feel movement, reopen the box and add more packing material until everything is secure.
  10. Seal the outer box securely.

Important Notes

  • Do not write anything on the outside of the package that identifies the contents as jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, or other valuables.
  • Ship only the items we need. We might accidentally discard or misplace gift boxes, presentation cases, pouches, holders, etc. We cannot assume responsibility for such items, regardless of their sentimental or monetary value.
  • Once we receive your package, we will email you a confirmation. If you don’t hear from us after delivery is confirmed, please call us. Registered Mail shipments, in particular, may take longer than expected to arrive.

Careful packaging is the best protection against loss or damage in transit. If packed properly, your shipment should arrive safely and securely.

Going “Postal”

USPS Registered Mail may be one of the most economical ways to ship valuable jewelry with insurance coverage. However, coverage limits and eligibility requirements can change, so verify the current terms directly with the United States Postal Service before shipping.

Remember: declared value is not the same as insurance. FedEx and UPS generally don’t offer conventional insurance as many shippers assume; their liability depends on specific terms, exclusions, and limits.

Before sending valuable jewelry, contact your own insurer. Your policy may provide coverage during transit at little or no additional cost. If it does not, arrange sufficient coverage to protect against the financial loss of replacing the item. Never assume your shipment is insured simply because you declared its value or purchased a shipping label. Confirm the coverage, exclusions, and maximum reimbursement before the package leaves your hands.
