International wire transfers - $100 per wire
A fee of $100 applies to each international wire transfer where the amount sent is less than the available account balance at the time of the request. This fee is charged in addition to any fees imposed by third parties and is deducted from your account.
- Third-Party Fees. Intermediary, correspondent, and receiving banks may deduct their own fees from the transfer. We do not control these fees, cannot predict them in advance, and are not responsible for them. As a result, the recipient may receive less than the amount you sent.
- Accuracy of Information. You are responsible for providing complete and accurate recipient details, including name, account number, bank identifier code (SWIFT/BIC or equivalent), and address. We are not liable for delays, misdirected funds, returns, or losses resulting from incorrect or incomplete information you provide.
- Exchange Rates. If a transfer involves currency conversion, the exchange rate applied may be set by us or by third-party institutions and may differ from published market rates. We are not responsible for rate changes that occur between the time of your request and the time of processing.
- Processing Times and Delays. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Time zones, banking holidays, compliance reviews, or other financial institutions may delay transfers. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control.
- Compliance and Right to Refuse. All transfers are subject to applicable laws and regulations, including sanctions screening and anti-money-laundering requirements. We may delay, hold, reject, or reverse any transfer, request additional information, or report activity to authorities as required by law, without prior notice where permitted.
- Irrevocability. Once a wire transfer has been sent, it generally cannot be canceled or reversed. Recall requests are made on a best-efforts basis and are not guaranteed to succeed. Fees are non-refundable, including for transfers that are returned or recalled.
- Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any wire transfer is limited to $100 of the transfer and associated fees / direct damages only. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost opportunities, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Returned check fees - $250 per check
By giving us a check, you represent and warrant that the account has sufficient collected funds to pay it in full when presented, and that you are authorized to draw on the account. If the check is returned unpaid for any reason, the returned check fee and other terms in our Returned Check Fee Policy will apply. By paying with a check or authorizing an electronic payment, you agree that if it is returned unpaid, we may electronically debit your account for the returned amount and the fee stated above.
A returned check (also called a bounced or dishonored check) is a check that your bank refuses to pay. Common reasons include:
- Insufficient funds (NSF)
- Closed or frozen account
- Stop payment order
- Account number or signature errors
- Stale-dated or post-dated checks
- Payment refused for any other reason
This policy also applies to electronic checks and ACH debits that are returned unpaid. We may redeposit a returned check electronically or otherwise, where allowed by law and your bank’s terms. If it is returned again, the fee applies to each return.
Credit Card chargeback - $500 plus the amount owed
A chargeback occurs when a cardholder disputes and reverses a transaction, and the card issuer withdraws the funds from our account. We will submit evidence to the card issuer proving that:
- The customer received the goods or services as described
- The customer authorized the transaction (e.g., signed agreement, matching billing address, delivery confirmation, login/IP records)
- A refund was already issued for the same transaction
- The customer agreed to our terms, refund policy, or cancellation policy at checkout
- The customer filed a dispute for a recurring charge they did not cancel before the renewal date
Order and payment records, proof of delivery or service use, communications with the customer, signed terms and policies, and any other documentation the issuer requires. By making a purchase, you agree we may share this information with our payment processor and your card issuer for dispute resolution. If a chargeback is filed, the following fees apply:
- Chargeback administrative fee: $300 per dispute
- Repeat chargeback fee: $500 per dispute.
- Fees reflect processing costs, our payment processor’s dispute charges, and staff time, and are not a penalty.
- Fees may be charged to the original payment method, deducted from any account balance or credit, or invoiced to you.
Consequences of chargebacks
- Account action: We will suspend and close accounts with a chargeback pending or a history of disputes.
- Service access: Access to products, services, or subscriptions tied to the disputed account will be denied.
- Collections: We will pursue the outstanding balance and applicable fees using any available legal method.
- Future orders: We will decline any future orders.
If you believe your card was used without permission, contact us right away and also notify your card issuer.
Late payment fees - $100
All invoices, retainers, deposits, balances, and other amounts due to Leon Mege Inc. must be paid on or before the stated due date. Any unpaid balance remaining after the applicable due date will accrue interest at a rate of 2.5% per month, compounded monthly, beginning on the date the payment becomes overdue, or at the maximum rate permitted by applicable law, whichever is lower.
Payments received shall be applied first to accrued late charges, then to collection costs, and finally to the outstanding principal balance. If any payment or its portion remains outstanding for more than thirty (30) days after its due date, Leon Mege Inc. may, in addition to any other rights and remedies available under applicable law:
- Suspend work on any order, project, repair, modification, or other service;
- Withhold delivery of any merchandise, gemstone, jewelry item, or completed work until all outstanding amounts have been paid in full;
- Decline to accept future orders or transactions from the customer;
- Refer the account to a collection agency or legal counsel for collection;
- In addition to accrued interest, a one-time penalty equal to ten percent (10%) of the outstanding balance will be assessed when the account becomes delinquent, subject to applicable law.
The customer shall be responsible for all reasonable costs incurred in collecting past-due amounts, including collection costs, court costs, and attorneys’ fees, to the extent permitted by applicable law. No waiver, delay, or failure by Leon Mege Inc. to enforce any late-payment provision shall constitute a waiver of its right to enforce such provision in the future.
Fee collection
If the outstanding balance has not been paid in full within three (3) months of the original purchase or project commencement date, the customer agrees that any deposit or retainer paid toward the project may be forfeited in its entirety, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Such forfeiture does not release the customer from any other payment obligation or liability that may remain due. If any balance remains unpaid for six (6) months, Leon Mege Inc. may, without further notice, pursue all remedies available under applicable law to recover the outstanding balance, accrued interest, damages, collection costs, attorneys’ fees, and court costs.
Delinquent Accounts
If a customer abandons, cancels, suspends, or otherwise discontinues a custom project for any reason after work has commenced, the customer remains responsible for all amounts due under the agreed project price, including amounts attributable to work already performed, materials acquired or committed for the project, and any other non-cancellable costs incurred by Leon Mege Inc. The customer’s decision to abandon or discontinue a project does not, by itself, terminate or eliminate the customer’s payment obligations.
Leon Mege Inc. undertakes custom work based on the customer’s commitment to the agreed project and payment terms. Once a custom project has been accepted and work has commenced, Leon Mege Inc. allocates professional labor, materials, workshop capacity, and other resources to that project. Customers are expected to fulfill their payment obligations in accordance with the agreed terms. Failure to make payment when due constitutes a default. In the event of default, Leon Mege Inc. reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law and may take any lawful action necessary to recover amounts owed.
An account will be considered delinquent thirty (30) calendar days after the applicable due date if the outstanding balance has not been paid in full. Once an account becomes delinquent, interest will accrue on the entire unpaid balance at a rate of 2.5% per month, calculated from the date the account becomes delinquent and continuing until the balance is paid in full, subject to the maximum rate permitted by applicable law. In addition to accrued interest, a one-time penalty equal to ten percent (10%) of the outstanding balance will be assessed when the account becomes delinquent, subject to applicable law. All accrued interest, penalties, and other charges will be added to the outstanding balance and will remain due until paid in full.
If an account remains unpaid, Leon Mege, Inc. may refer the account to a collection agency, attorney, or other authorized collection service and may pursue any other remedies available under applicable law. The customer will be responsible for reasonable collection costs, court costs, attorneys’ fees, and other recoverable expenses to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this policy limits any other rights or remedies available to Leon Mege, Inc. under applicable law. Acceptance of a late payment or failure to immediately enforce any provision of this policy shall not constitute a waiver of Leon Mege, Inc.’s right to enforce the provision in the future.
Missing pave stone replacement - $120 per stone
1. What’s Included: The listed price covers resetting a missing pavé colorless natural or lab-grown (synthetic) diamond of matching quality on an undamaged setting surface. It includes labor and a replacement diamond of up to 0.03 carats.
2. Larger Stones. Replacement stones of 0.04 carats or more are priced separately. We will quote the additional cost before work begins. Colored gemstones and fancy-colored diamonds are excluded, and we will price their replacement individually. If the client recovers an undamaged stone that fell out, we will attempt to set it. Resetting labor is $50 per stone.
3. Exclusions. This price does not include repair of damaged prongs, beads, or metal surfaces, or work on the surrounding setting. If we find damage during inspection, we will provide a separate quote before proceeding. If additional stones are lost, we will notify you promptly and quote replacements separately.
4. Pre-Existing Wear and Loose Stones. Pavé settings hold many small stones with tiny metal pegs or beads, and existing wear can weaken or damage them over time. Our work may cause other stones to shift or fall out during the repair. We will attempt to secure them free of charge unless repairs such as adding metal are required. We are not responsible for the loss of, or damage to, any stone or part of the setting resulting from pre-existing wear, weakness, or defects that were present before the work began. We will inspect the piece when we receive it and let you know about any visible loose stones or weakened areas.
Diamond laser engraving $500 per inscription
Diamond laser inscription is available upon request for eligible diamonds. Laser inscription typically consists of a microscopic inscription on the diamond’s girdle. It may include a laboratory report number, initials, date, symbol, logo, or other approved text, subject to the performing laboratory’s requirements and limitations. Laser inscriptions are generally visible only under magnification.
A $500 handling fee applies to all laser inscription requests. This fee is charged in addition to any fees assessed by the gemological laboratory, engraving provider, shipping carrier, insurer, or other third party involved in the process. All laser inscription requests are subject to technical feasibility, laboratory acceptance, and stone suitability. Leon Mege Inc. reserves the right to decline any inscription request for any reason, including technical limitations, insufficient girdle thickness, risk of damage, excessive character length, objectionable content, trademark concerns, or laboratory restrictions.
Laser inscription requires removing the diamond from its setting unless the inscription can be performed while mounted. Additional labor charges may apply to remove and reset a diamond when necessary. Leon Mege Inc. acts solely as an intermediary in submitting diamonds for laser inscription. All inscriptions are performed by independent third parties. Leon Mege Inc. makes no representation or warranty regarding the quality, appearance, accuracy, permanence, readability, spelling, placement, or suitability of any inscription.
Once a diamond has been submitted for inscription, the $500 handling fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the inscription is completed, modified, rejected, delayed, or subsequently removed. Laser inscription may extend production, repair, certification, or delivery schedules. Any stated completion dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Customers are solely responsible for reviewing and approving all inscription text, numbers, dates, symbols, and other content before submission. Leon Mege Inc. shall not be responsible for errors contained in customer-approved instructions.
In-house Appraisal - $500 per appraisal
Leon Mege Inc. provides in-house jewelry appraisals for eligible jewelry and gemstones upon request. An appraisal is a professional opinion of the item’s value prepared by Leon Mege Inc. based on the characteristics of the item, the gemstone(s), materials, craftsmanship, market conditions, and other relevant factors available to us at the time of appraisal. The standard fee for an in-house appraisal is $500 per item. We waive the fee for all items purchased or sourced from Leon Mege, including jewelry and loose stones at the time of the purchase.
The appraisal is issued for the sole purpose of obtaining insurance. It is intended to provide an insurance company with a stated replacement value for the described item. It is not intended to establish a selling price, purchase price, resale value, liquidation value, estate value, tax value, or value for any other purpose. The appraisal represents Leon Mege Inc.’s opinion of the item’s insurance replacement value as of the date stated in the appraisal. It is not a guarantee that the item could be purchased, sold, replaced, or reproduced for the stated amount. Actual replacement costs may vary due to changes in gemstone prices, precious-metal prices, labor costs, availability, market conditions, or other circumstances occurring after the appraisal date.
An appraisal is not a gemological grading report or laboratory certificate. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Leon Mege Inc. does not independently certify the authenticity, grade, or characteristics of a gemstone through a third-party laboratory as part of the appraisal process. The customer is responsible for providing accurate information concerning the item’s ownership, purchase history, provenance, and any existing laboratory reports or documentation. Leon Mege Inc. may rely upon information supplied by the customer and upon its own examination of the item.
Appraisal fees are payable before the appraisal is prepared and are non-refundable once the appraisal process has commenced, regardless of whether the customer, insurer, or any other party agrees with the stated value. Leon Mege Inc. reserves the right to decline to appraise any item where, in its judgment, the item’s condition, authenticity, provenance, documentation, construction, or other circumstances prevent the preparation of a reliable appraisal. The appraisal is prepared solely for the customer and may be provided to the customer’s insurance company for insurance purposes. It may not be represented as an independent appraisal commissioned by an insurance company or other third party.
Jewelry box replacement - $350 per box
A replacement original Leon Megé burgundy presentation box bearing the embossed Art of Platinum® logo will cost $300 per box. Please note that Leon Megé Inc. is transitioning away from natural leather as the primary material used in its presentation boxes. As existing inventory is depleted, we are replacing the leather boxes with Italian-made presentation boxes upholstered in genuine French velvet and featuring the Leon Megé logo in silver lettering.
Leon Megé Inc. does not guarantee the availability of any specific box style, material, color, logo treatment, or presentation packaging. We will supply replacement boxes based on current inventory and production availability at the time of the request.
Urgent Jewelry Care - $175 per hour
Leon Megé Inc. operates by appointment and production schedule. Leon Megé Inc. may accommodate requests for unscheduled services, emergency appointments, expedited production, accelerated repairs, rush modifications, urgent consultations, or other services requiring priority handling solely at its discretion and subject to personnel, workshop, and scheduling availability. Any request requiring Leon Megé Inc. to alter its normal production schedule, reassign personnel, postpone other projects, work outside normal business hours, or otherwise provide priority handling may be classified as an Expedited Service Request.
1. Rate. Services or work that require our immediate attention and were not scheduled in advance are billed at $175 per hour, with a two-hour minimum.
2. Multiple Personnel. If more than one person is assigned to the work, the rate and minimum apply to each person individually. For example, two people working for three hours are billed for six hours.
3. Overtime. If any Leon Megé employee must work overtime to complete the work, the rate for that employee’s overtime hours is $250 per hour. Overtime means hours worked outside regular business hours of 9 pm to 5 pm, Monday-Friday.
Leon Megé Inc. reserves the right to assess an Expedited Service Fee for any such request. The fee amount will be determined based on the nature of the request, the required turnaround time, the resources involved, and the impact on existing operations. Any applicable Expedited Service Fee will be disclosed to the customer and must be approved before work commences.
Acceptance of an Expedited Service Request does not constitute a guarantee of completion by a specific date unless expressly confirmed in writing by Leon Megé Inc. Estimated completion dates are subject to material availability, third-party suppliers, laboratory services, shipping carriers, force majeure events, and other circumstances beyond our control. Leon Megé Inc. reserves the right to decline any request for unscheduled or expedited service for any reason, including but not limited to workload, staffing limitations, technical constraints, scheduling conflicts, security concerns, or the unavailability of required materials or services.
Expedited Service Fees compensate Leon Megé Inc. for the additional administrative, operational, and scheduling burdens associated with priority handling and are separate from, and in addition to, the cost of the underlying goods or services. Once approved and work has commenced, Expedited Service Fees are non-refundable. The provision of expedited service on one occasion does not create any obligation to provide expedited service in the future.
Gemstone certification - handling fee $300 per certificate
Gemstone certification is available upon request for eligible gemstones and diamonds, either loose or mounted in jewelry. An independent third-party gemological laboratory selected by Leon Mege Inc. or requested by the customer performs certification, subject to availability and the laboratory’s acceptance. A $300 handling fee applies to each item submitted for examination and certification. The fee is charged per item and is in addition to the laboratory submission costs, regardless of the gemstone value.
Certification fees cover administrative handling and insurance and are non-refundable once an item has been submitted for certification, regardless of the laboratory’s findings, grading results, or report issuance. If there are any shipping costs, they are the client’s responsibility and may incur additional charges. Certification may extend production, delivery, or completion timelines. Leon Mege Inc. is not responsible for delays caused by the laboratory, shipping carriers, customs authorities, or other third parties involved in the certification process.
Gemological grading reports and certificates reflect the issuing laboratory’s opinions and conclusions. Leon Mege Inc. does not guarantee any particular grading outcome and assumes no responsibility for the laboratory’s findings, methodologies, opinions, or subsequent revisions to a report.
Authenticity verification - $250 for each item
Leon Megé can authenticate jewelry pieces attributed to the Leon Megé workshop and purchased directly from Leon Megé. The fees below apply to each piece submitted.
- Standard authentication: $250 per piece
- Expedited authentication: $500 per piece, completed within 3 business days
- Written certificate or letter of authenticity: $100 per piece in addition to the standard fees
Fees are due in full at the time of submission. Authentication will not begin until we receive payment. The fee covers the time and expertise needed to examine the piece and is charged regardless of the outcome. It is non-refundable whether the piece is found to be authentic, not authentic, or inconclusive, and whether or not a certificate is issued.
Shipping, Insurance, and Handling. Fees do not include shipping or insurance. The customer is responsible for round-trip shipping costs and insuring the piece in transit. Leon Megé will return the piece at the customer’s expense.
Additional Charges. If a piece requires extra work, such as disassembly, cleaning, gemstone testing, or outside laboratory analysis, we will provide a quote and obtain your approval before proceeding.
Inconclusive Results. If a piece cannot be conclusively authenticated, we will notify you and, where appropriate, explain what additional information (such as original receipts, documentation, or provenance) could support a further review.
